Pharmacological properties
Profen belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
Ketoprofen, which is part of the preparation, is a derivative of propionic acid, has a pronounced antiflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic effect, suppresses platelet aggregation. The mechanism of action of ketoprofen is based on the suppression of the synthesis of prostaglandins as a result of exposure to cyclooxygenase and lipooxygenase metabolism of arachidonic acid, stabilizes lysosomal membranes, and causes inhibition of neutrophil activity in animals with arthritis.
Ketoprofen is rapidly absorbed from the injection site, enters the blood and most organs and tissues, reaching a maximum concentration in blood plasma after 30-40 minutes, is excreted from the body mainly with urine.
In the recommended doses, it does not have a locally irritating, sensitizing and embryotoxic effect, does not cumulate in the body.
